A prank, or trick, is a troublesome method played on someone, normally causing the target to experience humiliation, perplexity, confusion, or pain.   An individual who carries out a prank is called a “practical joker”.  Various other terms for pranks consist of trick, jape, or shenanigan.
Prank differ from confidence tricks or hoaxes because the victim learns or is allowed in on the joke, as opposed to being spoken into turning over loan or various other belongings. Prank are typically laid-back and without long-term influence; they aim to make the victim feel humbled or absurd, but not victimized or embarrassed.
